Are you the one?

By Ajah Eric.

The second week of your first year in campus, a place you dreamt to reach by all means. You worked tirelessly to reach ……

Triza   :It was indeed a great pleasure knowing you Mary . I pray that our frienship will not be terminated as a result of the whirling wind and campus' tempest storm. That we may be of good help to one another.

Mary: Pleasure meeting you too. That has been my humble prayer in season and out of season. Meeting a friend who can act as the ladder to my success .A friend freed from fake fright and conformities to fake freedom of this campus. You seem to be reading my mind .You must be very smart upstairs .Let’s strive to be solutions to the problems prevalent in our homes and societies .I believe all that has been born by the mind of a zealous person’s will and passion is bound to come to pass.

Triza     : Amen!! I believe we possess a God given potential as his unique creation. Though hurdles can pin us down but what is prudent is us handling them into a bundle and stepping into them to visualize the brighter future awaiting us. By so doing our visions in life will never become blurred. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Mary   : Amen. Let’s believe in God’s given promises to humanity and in particular to those who     are his staunch followers and adherers of his commandments. He has promised to make those   who believe in him heads and not tails. Those who believe in him shall run and never be weary .They shall fly high with wings like eagles. A thousand shall fall in their left and a thousand people in their right bust they shall never stumble.

Life in campus started well with you .Your dreams were too clear and your destiny seemed to be your guide day after day .Every day of your life was marked by power packed prayers made to the Almighty .In the Christian union you were a well known member .The heaven’s gates always closer and open to you. Preaching fire and brimstones. ‘The lord is my fountain, I shall not want. He leads me to greener grass while I am hungry and to the cool waters when thirst grips me for that reason hunger and thirst are past tense to me….I will not conform to the standards of this world but rather I will be transformed by the continued renewal of my mind ,HALLELLUJAH!!’ That was the prayer that all and sundry associated with you.
Life to you was a legacy .Not polluted not contaminated .Your friend could be heard from afar echoing and testifying the substance in you. Your praises spread across the campus like the dry season wind.  Many turning you to an idle. Following you without a second thought. Pouring showers of accolades to you. Tanking their creator for availing you to them. Triza, a lady to be celebrated and not to be tolerated.
At home, your parents were fighting to overwhelm the strings of misfortune life had presented to them and held them captive of poverty. The villagers nicknamed them the less fortunate and made fun that a cow of a poor man shall never yield twins. And that the fortune of the unfortunate is the greatest misfortune .Who knows ,perhaps they were right .Your parents eating a mince of a meal every fortnight and seeing it as blessing in time .The signs of  a brighter future were evident every time it dawned to their  minds that you are their only and  daughter and that you are in the university .Having come against all the odds and sayings .Learning through thick and thin and coming out meritoriously .Now your parents were optimistic and they lived in their future that they depended on you to take them .
Where did the rain start beating you? Were your thoughts stolen by the devil and your ambitions watered down? Was it true that the cow of poor had turned barren as the devil been so keen scheming to bring you from grace to grass? From a heroine to a village? Can’t you wake up from your chloroformic slumber and harkens the voice of the Lord as a prodigal son? Your life has become .You allowed thunderstorm to silence you and you heeded to the trumpet sound of the enemy .Poor Triza who can heal your disease?
Your life has completely changed .Treading to the exact opposite direction. Your vision blurred .Walking blind in the day’s light. Making money your master maker .Making fashion your master monitor. You turned from being a direction to a rejection .Selling your private possession to the roaring lion who never hesitated devouring you, tearing you a sunder and leaving a carcass to sob .Look now the situation you are in .Things falling apart .You are now harvesting the toil and moil of your deeds .The results of meticulous and meritorious work .Writhing in pangs of pain. Are you the real you?
