This is for us
Who after years of toil
Our bodies were worthy of the gown
Oh, that precious crown
Villagers travelled to see
And yet,
After so many years still lost at sea
This is for those of us
Who can’t find happiness
Who slave away at our jobs
Who see their dreams on the rear view mirror
Whose effort bears no fruit
This is for us who do good
And expect nothing in return
However thankless the world is!
For us who smile through the pain
Who laugh when we should cry
This is for those of us
Who can’t give up, who won’t give in!
Who cheer ourselves one more time
Every time!
This is for those of us
Who need a day to recover
A friend to lean on
A word of encouragement
A hand to pull us up
The sun rises, the sun sets
As long as we are here
We still have another chance
We must BE, or die BECOMING!
