Water the Tahrir Square*

By Karani Kelvin.

Child,
Do not bother yourself
With those eating beyond their fill
Let them return to the queue for more
Like ill-mannered high school students
Let them beat their chests in pride
After declaring themselves godsend
But behind the bush they’ll struggle
Alone, anguish carving itself on their faces
Remember Tunisia, remember Egypt
Water the Tahrir Square in your heart!

*Still wondering whether the title is ok.
